Review:

my dog doesnt like the toy the treats are for but she loves the treats by themselves.

Review:

My puppies LOVE these things. I use them in the interactive toys and treat ball items and the girls will work to get them out! They are also good for the puzzle toys that seem to have small openings that most things won't fit through!! You actually get a decent amount for the money and they seem to make the puppies happy. I just bought more. . . .

Review:

My dog loves these little treats. We put them in a kong before we leave the house and it keeps him busy while we are gone.

Review:

Use these treats to reward your puppies for sitting, dropping, etc. They help train your puppy.

Review:

These were linked with the Waggle -- there may even be a photo of the toy on the front of the treat bag.

I'm still using these, just to get rid of them, but when used with the small Waggle they provide no challenge for my 12-pound mix. They're too small and fall right out with almost no effort on her part, which -- I want her occupied! The pieces are also too small to be used as treats; each is about the size of a small pill or long grain of rice. To keep the pieces from falling out immediately, I usually seal the opening of the Waggle with peanut butter before I give her the toy.

The chicken flavoring grosses me out; it reminds me a little of cereal "icing" the way it coats each piece.

Regardless, I'm not disappointed in the product per se, we're still using it, and my dog has no complaints.

Q&A

What are favorite treats of a your small puppy?

ShortnSweet's Question:
We have a new, ~4 lb, 9 wk old maltipoo puppy. I want to train her using positive reinforcement and treats, but she isn't wild about the treats we have- Bil Jac liver treats and Milk Bone treats which we break into smaller pieces. Anyone have suggestions for treats that would really motivitate this dog?

IceBreaker27's Answer

Most treats - yes, even the organic or 'natural' ones - are packed with preservatives, sugar, salt, artificial flavorings, and artificial colorings. Try making your own, or using small slices of carrots, apples, etc.

What kind of Chocolate treats should my boyfriend and I make?

Kathy K's Question:
My boyfriend and I don't celebrate valentines day because our anniversary is the next day. We were planning on just staying in and doing something fun, so I suggested we make own own chocolate treats since we are both chocolate fanatics! Any ideas or recipes for EASY chocolate treats? **when I say EASY I mean as easy as possible because we both don't have patients! Thanks!

Major Eyeswater's Answer

Oreo Truffles! Three ingredients: crushed Oreos, cream cheese and chocolate bark. http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2008/01/grocery-item-turns-gourmet.html They taste like you worked on them all day.

What is the best Christmas treats that diabetes people can eat?

kdmatthews06's Question:
I am doing two different kind of treats for my social club but some are requesting me to make something that people with diabetes can eat. What's is the best treat for Christmas that is easy to make and diabetes can eat?

Miz Lamb's Answer

I am always happy with people who bring a veggie and dip platter to anything. Spinach leaves all over the bottom, celery sticks, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pepper rings or strips, cheese cubes and a lovely dip to go with them. The veggie and dip platters work for any holiday or group get together. And are much healthier treats for everyone.

Review:

I bought this unit a few months ago for my stubborn Welsh Corgi, who loves to bark for no reason. I tried it for short periods of time at first, and then left it on for longer. Although the manufacturer says to take the collar off at night, I left it on her by mistake for 2 days. when I went to trim her neck hair, thinking the electrodes weren't making contact with her skin, I discovered two infected holes in her neck where the electrodes had dug in.

My vet is sure that even though we left the collar on for two days, the cause of the injury was too high of a voltage being delivered. There were no burn marks on her skin, just two fleshy, infected holes in her neck. I didn't change any setting on this unit when I got it, so I sent the unit back to the manufacturer for a refund and reimbursement for my vet visit. They are offering to exchange the collar for another unit, which is nice, but they won't pay for my vet bill because I left the collar on for a longer than recommended time. SO MAD!!! I even checked the collar to see if I could fit my fingers between the electrodes and her neck and I could. I'm exchanging this unit for the SportDog NoBark 18 Deluxe, so we'll see if that causes any more pain for my dog.

I relied on the numerous good ratings on Amazon and I was let down big time.

Review:

Being rechargeable is great. The collar does what it is suppose to do without hurting our Redbone coonhound.

Review:

We have a lab who loves to bark. After several years of buying bark collars only for them to not work, or break shortly thereafter, we have finally found a product that works. The battery has yet to be recharged, and what a convenience to not have to buy batteries anymore. What's even better is that it can be turned on and off so no wasted battery. The only complaint is that it is difficult to switch training modes per the instructions as the collar keeps wanting to turn off.

Review:

I am not sure if the product was defective or not. I put this on my dog and he had no reaction-even barked more. The few times that I had it on my dog, He got a skin reaction and burnt like marks where the prongs were. I tried a friend's cheaper version of a bark collar and it worked great-so it isn't that I have a stubborn dog.

Review:

This is the third no-bark collar I have purchased for my goldendoodle. He barks hysterically at all passing dogs, school buses, cars, etc. I tried a citronella one, which worked for a short time and then stopped functioning. I tried an Innotek one that I think never worked right. This one worked right away! It only took a couple of corrections on the first day. I do still need to put it on him every time he goes out, because he will test it once in a while. He still gets excited and runs back and forth in the yard when other dogs go by, but the horrible barking has stopped. Thank you for reducing my stress!

Q&A

I have a Question about dog bark control collars?

Nao's Question:
I have a German Shepard puppy he's five months old and he barks excessively and I was wondering what are good dog bark control collars out there and a cheap price. And also can someone tell me about Silent Whistles do they work for bark control and other training purposes ? Thanks a Bunch - Nao. PS I dont believe in Shock collars. I think they are inhumane.

Curtis M's Answer

The no bark collars that are cheap - Don't work. The ones that don't use electric stimulation - Don't work. Gimmicks - Don't work. There's no such thing on the planet as a shock collar. There are electric collars, and there are electric no-bark collars. Both are GREAT tools when used correctly by somebody with a brain and common sense and are only inhumane when used by idiots. A quality no-bark collar is never inhumane because it adjusts the level of correction to suit your dog. In other words the correction (electric stim) intensity is increased each time the dog barks. So it starts off as barely noticeable, and works it's way up, when it's uncomfortable enough for the dog to stop, it has found the perfect correction for your particular dog, not too soft, not too hard. Too soft a correction = ineffective. Too hard of a correction = could damage your dog's nerves/character. BUT quality no-bark collars are idiot proof, charge it, put it on the dog at times when barking would be a problem, tada. With electric training collars the human needs training on how to use it properly because they're not idiot proof and most people who think they can do it on their own don't have enough common sense to do it...and they end up damaging their dog's character and guess what? The bunny huggers and pretend trainers blame it on the electric collar and not the moron who was holding the remote. A tool is only as good as the person wielding it. Dogtra is my brand of choice in e-collars and nobark collars, check out their website.

Review:

One of my dogs was causing us extreme problems and discomfort in a new neighborhood. Neighbors had begun complaining, and the dog's behavior increasingly worsened. I didn't know what to do. She constantly wants attention. While it's no way possible that we can give her our attention 24/7 and she has to go outside at some point, I called my vet. He recommended a book and this device. I was like a child at Christmas when it arrived in the mail. I was tired of the neighbors' dirty looks, and I couldn't even hear my tv or do my homework because of the whinny-barking noise. This fixed it---FAST. It's been less than 24 hours, and the noise has stopped. She'll try and get reminded. This doesn't hurt her, or else I would see a physical indicator. She just suddenly stops barking. It was either this, or she had to go to a new home. I think this is the best solution for us all. Thanks, Amazon, for your speedy service, great prices, and stocking this excellent product. The customer reviews helped too.!

Review:

The collar works on Sammy the Airedale. That boy can get excited about the critters in the blackberries next to his kennel. Woof Woof Woof for hours. But he will shut right up with the magic collar. No trauma.
In the spirit of fairness, I put it on myself first and Woofed. It shut me right up too, with just a little bit of trauma. I am cured of Woofing and no longer use it on myself.

Review:

It does appear to be working and we have tried everything. We have been an embarrassment in the neighborhood with her incessant barking at anything on legs or wheels. However, it is supposed to be "humane" and I'm not sure about that. Her second day of wearing it, she made one sharp, loud bark while she was on my bed. She literally flew up into the air with fright and fell off my bed. Needless to say, I was pretty upset by her response. If I have to deal with that kind of reaction regularly, I will have to take the collar off of her. She has barked since this morning and has had a response less dramatic, so hopefully she's just a sensitive one and that was one isolated incident. ADDENDUM: Let me just say definitively IT IS NOT HUMANE. Two more incidents outside tonight where she barked and yelped in pain and then sat cowering and shaking. I don't even hear her yelp that loudly if we accidentally step on her paw, this can't possibly be a humane level of correction. I am going to order the more expensive one available that allows correction level control. If I could take that 3 stars down to a 1 or 0 now I would.

Review:

I can't say long term how well this product will do, because I have only had it a couple of hours, but my Jack Russell Terrier has only barked twice since I put it on him. At least for the moment, my house is quiet and I love it.
Now I can give my dog positve loving attention instead of the negative attention I was giving him because of his incessant yapping.

Review:

I have a 12 year old Chihuahua who never had a barking problem. A few months ago, some drunken / strung-out nutjob tried to break into my house in the middle of the night. Long story short: some woman was so out of it that she thought MY house was HER house and when she couldn't figure out how to get in via the front door, she decided to try to break in via the back instead! Of course my dogs went berserk. Note that my dogs stay downstairs, and the people bedrooms are upstairs.

Since that incident, my chi has understandably been a nervous-nelly at night. Right around two or three a.m. he was freaking out and barking and howling frantically for hours-on-end at nothing. As you can imagine, this wreaked havoc on everyone in the house's ability to get a good night's sleep! I tried everything including earplugs! Have you ever heard a Chihuahua bark for a few hours? It cuts through walls! And of course, running downstairs only reinforced his behavior: he was upset and wanted someone to come downstairs. Night after night, it was the same routine. After a lot of soul searching, I finally decided to try a shock collar. I was at my wit's end. I had had a perfect, non-barking, loving dog for twelve years and was suddenly living with a maniac due to some random junkie jerk who just picked my house out of the blue. I did a lot of research and also spoke with a very knowledgeable and helpful manager at PetSmart where I ultimately bought this collar. Note that my dog only weighs about 7 pounds. The collar is recommended for dogs which are 8 pounds or heavier not due to the shock but because the mechanism is a bit bulky and about the size of a large pack of gum. My dog hasn't had any issues with the size of the mechanism.

This collar works! I have my adorable little guy back! I've been using it for about a week. I put it on before I head upstairs to bed and take it off as soon as I get up in the morning. The first few nights, he still went into his night rage. The collar startled him and quieted him down very quickly though. The barking only lasted a few minutes versus a few hours. The last few nights have been serenely quiet! I am so happy with this product and the peace and quiet! It was so easy with the collar's help to get my dog to "unlearn" an unfortunate behavior issue. I am confident that in a very short period of time, I won't need to collar and can go back to normal. I do appreciate my dog's protective instincts at night. I just want them to only engage when there is a real threat. Again, very happy with the product!

Review:

This didn't work for our dogs. I had to get the rechargeable sports zapping collar. It starts with a small zap and the zap increases until the dog stops barking. This has worked with both dogs.

Review:

It only worked for 1 evening and then stopped spraying. Battery was not the issue because I bought a new one from petsmart. I was not able to return it either.... VERY UPSET I WASTED MY MONEY ON A BROKEN PRODUCT and COULDNT GET IT REPLACED or REFUND!! !! !!

Review:

I had hoped this product would work, unfortunately after one "Spray" the collar stopped working. I bought new batteries, no luck. However, Amazon was great - because it's not returnable, they just credited my card.

Review:

We adopted an anxious female weimaraner who nervously barked at noises and other dogs. We had tried positive re-conditioning, which hadn't worked. We only had to use this collar twice for her to get the message that such barking was undesirable. As a result, it seems to have broken the cycle of anxiety that she seemed unable to control previously. Love the collar and Amazon had the best price.

Review:

I got this item thinking it would be so much better than the shock collars but the battery died one day after it came in the mail and it didn't seem to bother my puppy even though he didn't like the smell. He kept yapping away
